Grand Prix de Fourmies. Bunch sprint finish despite attacks of Cort and Stalnov
There was a traditional bunch sprint at this year’s Grand Prix de Fourmies, with Pascal Ackermann taking his second consecutive win. After 205 kilometers of racing, everything was back together after multiple attacks and breakaways. Nikita Stalnov and Magnus Cort both attacked from the peloton, but they both didn’t make it to the early breakaway of nine riders. Laurens De Vreese was the first Astana rider to cross the finish line. Hernando Bohorquez crashed in an early stage of the race. The Colombian of Astana Pro Team had to visit the hospital for a medical check, but luckily, no serious injuries were found.
