Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec. Hugo Houle is best Canadian at home race
In the first out of two Canadian one-day races, Hugo Houle finished fifteenth and was crowned as best Canadian rider in front of his home crowd in Québec. Michael Matthews got himself a third consecutive win after winning both races in 2018, finishing just in front of runner-up Peter Sagan and Greg Van Avermaet. After the early breakaway got caught in the final laps on the local circuit, many riders attacked, but it came down to a reduced bunch sprint with the Australian rider being the strongest rider of the day after 219,6 kilometers.
