Deutschland Tour. Stage 2. Alexey Lutsenko fights for stage win, Davide Villella takes KOM jersey
With two attacks in the final of stage 2, Kazakh champion Alexey Lutsenko animated the race in his attempt to go for the stage win. But after two attempts to stay clear from the chasing group, he finished in this group behind Alexander Kristoff who took the win and the overall lead. Lutsenko is now fifth on just 15 seconds of Kristoff with two more stages to go. Earlier, on the eventful stage, Davide Villella and Hernando Bohorquez were part of a 30-man-breakaway, with Villella being able to take the KOM points on the first climb. He’s now the leader in the King of the Mountains classification, wearing the blue jersey on tomorrow’s stage 3.
