- I knew the final part of the stage, because I was here to check the route. It was crucial to stay in front on the descent before the last climb and to start it among the first as well. The team supported me really well, especially Bakhtiyar Kozhatayev. The climb was hard and fast, but I did it quite good. I can say, I felt well today, especially in the final, - said Jakob Fuglsang.
The World champion Peter Sagan won the stage ahead of Michael Matthews and Dan Martin.
Geraint Thomas still leads the general classification, while Kazakh rider of Astana Proteam Alexey Lutsenko moved up to 11th place, 37 seconds behind the leader. Also, he is 2nd in the white jersey classification.
