- Very fast stage from the beginning. Everybody wanted to try to go to the breakaway, a lot of attacks, a lot of speed. Our riders also tried to go, but only six guys finally gone. After a long period sprinters teams tried to chase them, we also had our Ruslan Tleubeyev for the sprint, but in the final it was victory from the breakaway, - commented sports director Lars Michaelsen after the stage.
Ruslan Tleubayev finished with the main group, with the leader of the general classification Rafal Majka.
- It was very hard stage, we were chasing the breakaway during the whole day, last 50 km speed was always up to 60 km/h. I felt good and I think could finish in a better position, but at the last 4 km it were some drops, which we needed to close, - said Ruslan Tleubayev just after the finish.
American rider Evan Huffman won the stage from the daylong breakaway.
- Another hard day of racing, day, which we have to get the positive outlet – important racing kilometers. Now we have two challenging days for the GC contenders – mountain stage tomorrow with 40-km climb to the finish, which will not be suitable for any of our riders, and ITT the day after tomorrow. We are looking forward to the last stage, hopefully, we will try to do something there, - added Lars Michaelsen.
