- At the meeting before the start this morning we told our riders that it will be a sprint at the finish and they should preserve the energy as much as it possible to try to help out Minali or Breshchel, depends on who will have the legs at the end. They went to the front around 3 km to go and worked to help leaders to find the best position, but the final was not suitable for our riders with steep climb before 600 meters to the finish, - explained sports director Lars Michaelsen.
Italian neo-professional sprinter of Astana Proteam Riccardo Minali finished 11th.
- Today I felt good and I had very good legs, but final today was very difficult and nervous because of the little climb at the finish. I started my sprint too late and chose not right wheel, and became only 11th. But I feel myself better and better day-by-day and I will definitely try next stages, - commented Riccardo Minali.
