High speed and impressive expressions of high power on the pedals were the factors of the fist stage of the Tirreno – Adriatico 2017.
The Astana Pro Team was classified in 10th position at 55 seconds from the American team winner of the stage.
“We were not looking at the teams specialist in this discipline – said Fabio Aru after the stage – looking to my potential rivals for the GC, few of them went pretty well and it won’t be easy to regain the missed seconds… anyway, there are still six stages in this race and anything can happen”.
One of the two sport director of the Astana Pro Team at the Tirreno – Adriatico is the Italian, Bruno Cenghialta: “Some teams, that are here to fight for the overall victory, did better than us and this is what the clock has sanctioned – commented Cenghialta – said this, I think that this coming week of race will give everyone the chance to play his own ‘cards’, we are here to do good and we will do our best everyday for it.”
Tomorrow second stage from Camaiore to Pomarance, 229 km with a some hills in the second part of the stage and the finish line at the top of one of those.
