“We have to congratulate with the riders who arrived in front of us because they climbed very fast – explained the Italian captain of the Astana Pro Team – I’m satisfied of these two races in the Emirates, I think I have done another important step in my training and now I’m looking forward to ride at Strade Bianche and Tirreno – Adriatico in the next weeks”.

The stronger climbers attacked each other in this final climb but two riders, wrongly not considered as the favourites, were able to take an advantage for this situation and fought for the victory.
The Portuguese athlete Alberto Rui Costa has beaten the Russian Ilnur Zakarin and, thank to today’s victory, he is the new leader of the GC.
Fabio Aru was sixth and arrived before all the other favourites.
