“I remained fully concentrated for the entire race today because I knew it could have been an important one – commented Jakob Fuglsang immediately after the finish – I also jumped in one big breakaway far away from the finish. At least, I think the third place on this strong final is a good result… well, I didn’t expect Hermans could arrive from behind at that speed for the final sprint but it is ok, we have four challenging stages in front of us..”.
The Danish rider of the Astana Pro Team, Fuglsang, after today’s stage is third in the GC, at 6 seconds from the leader, the Belgian, Ben Hermans.
Between the other Astana Pro Team riders who did good today we have Fabio Aru (7th on finish line and 6th on the GC), then Andrey Zeits 17th and Alexey Lutsenko 19th.
Tomorrow, third stage from Sultan Qaboos University to Quriyat (162 km), with some hills along the race route and an uphill final (2.8 km at 6,5%).
