“It is good to be back in the very heart of the action of a bunch sprint – said Matti Breschel after today stage – I’ve tried to do the sprint because the sensations were pretty good… I’m fully recovered from the illness i suffered of in the past week but I miss some explosivity and I couldn’t do more”.
“Anyway I’m positive because I see my condition and my motivation growing day by day – explained the Danish rider – I’m happy here in Astana Pro Team and I’m sure with a growing condition and a bit of luck, we should really do great things in the months to come!”.
Today’s third stage at the Tour Down Under was good for the sprinters and in fact with a bunch sprint it has ended. The winner of the People’s Choice and the first stage of the Tour Down Under, the Australian Caleb Ewan, has dominated today's final sprint.
Our Danish rider Matti Breschel, at his debut in Australia with the Astana Pro Team colours, has remained in the front position until the finish line and concluded the stage in 13th position.
Not far from him was the captain for the GC of the Kazakh’s Team, the Spanish Luis Leon Sanchez, who gained two position in the GC and now is 7th.
Tomorrow, Friday, January 20, the stage 4 of the Tour Down Under, from Norwood to Campbelltown (149.5 km), with a very hilly race route, characterized by many up and down.
