Skoda-Tour de Luxembourg. Stage 4. Vadim Pronskiy finishes in Top 10 at the first key stage
Young Kazakh neopos of Astana Pro Team Vadim Pronskiy finishes 8th at the fourth stage of Skoda-Tour de Luxembourg among the small elite group of the main GC contenders.
The longest stage of the race from Rodange to Differdange was 201-km-long distance with six 1-st category climbs.

Just after the start it was a breakaway of six riders, but they didn’t reached to the finish as the situation at the race changed after 100 km of racing. Due to the wind race split into two groups, with our Yevgeniy Gidich was in the first group of around 35 riders, and other peloton, around 1 minute behind.
Finally, the race rejoined only 30 km to go, when riders reached to final circuits. It was many attacks in the front at the laps, which reduced the peloton to the elite group of 12 riders, including our young talent Vadim Pronskiy.
At the final kilometers it was attack of four riders, including the current race leader Italian Diego Ulissi, who won the stage, Pronskiy finished 8th, 15 seconds behind.
With this result Vadim rises from 34 to 11th place in GC, 38 seconds behind the yellow jersey.
– It was a very hard stage today – 200 kilometers with total difference in altitude of 2800 meters. After first 100 km the peloton was split at the wind and we had to close the gap, so the pace was very high all the way. At 170 km we finally rejoined with the first group and came to the final laps, where the main attacks had already begun. At the final I managed to finish in the top 10. I want to thank my teammates who did a great job for me today. Tomorrow we have also very hard stage with the uphill finish, which will be decisive for the final GC of the race. I will try to compete for the white jersey of the best young rider and for the Top 10 in the overall classification, – commented Vadim Pronsky after the finish.
