The 10km flat course had the ability to shake up on the overall ranking for the last time before the winner of the race of the two seas was crowned.
The first Astana Pro Team rider that left the ramp was Yuriy Natarov. Next to roll out was Fabio Felline, Oscar Rodriquez and Alex Aranburu, who all crossed the line around one minute down on eventualwinner F.Ganna.
Jakob Fuglsang and Aleksandr Vlasov were the last two riders of the Kazakh team to start their race against the clock. Both put in a good performance finishing the course in a time of around 11 minutes, which meant 24th and 30th place at the end of the day.
In the end, S. Yates was awarded the title of overall winner of this year`s Tirreno-Adriatico, while Aleksandr Vlasov finished the 8-day stage race in 5th place overall and as the winner of the youth classification. Teammate Jakob Fuglsang, who took the race as preparation for the upcoming Giro d`Italia, finished in 14th place on the general classification.
- All in all, I am happy with my performance here. Tirreno-Adriatico was a good preparation for the Giro and I think I am ready to start my first Grand Tour soon. Jakob will be our leader for the Corsa Rosa, maybe I can try to get the jersey of the best young rider, we will see. I finished now fifth overall, and I think it is quite good, as we had a lot of good riders here. – Aleksandr Vlasov
