“The strategy for today race we shared in this morning meeting was for me to pay attention to the attacks that could have been done in the last three laps – commented Diego Rosa after the finish – I did so, I entered in a couple of very important attacks but the collaboration was not 100% between the escapers…”.
“I’ve tried to gain the bigger gap possible and, just before the begin of the last lap I attacked in a solo action to try every possibility – continued the Italian of the Astana Pro Team – then, the teams of the faster riders did a great action and there hasn’t been space for no one... In fact, at least, the victory has been decide by a sprint from the selected riders that everyone was considering as the favourites…”.
“Obviously we would have been certainly happier to win or gain the podium but I think that we all did a great job in terms of preparation for the next races” concluded satisfied Rosa.
The first two positions of the podium of the two days ago in Québec has reversed with the Olympic Champion, the Belgian, Greg Van Avermaet who has won the Gran Prix Cycliste de Montréal beating the World Champion, the Slovak, Peter Sagan.
