The helmets Limar meet the strictest international safety Standards such as CE EN 1078, American CPSC and Australian AS/NZS and are subjected to the toughest tests in different conditions.
Safety has always been the priority for Limar. The collaboration with the pro has always been part of Limar DNA, and Limar was the first company to sponsor a full cycling team. The recommendations of champions like Gianni Bugno, Bjarne Riis, Alexandr Vinokurov, and most recently of the Astana Pro Team riders testing the helmets during the races, have always allowed the development of helmets based on the real needs of professional cyclists, extremely demanding in terms of comfort, ventilation and, most of all, performance.
The inestimable information collected along the years have directed the research and development of Limar, integrating mathematical data and the analyses of the wind tunnel tests with another even more sophisticated instrument: man, with all his sensations.
In the last few years Limar has though focused heavily in scientifically explore new limits in performance, developing a brand new range of helmets all based on aerodynamics: the Limar “Air Revolution”.
In order to do that, Limar got inspired by the most aerodynamic shapes, a lab that has been working for million years: nature. A starting point that the Company has analysed, tested and developed thanks to the most innovative analysis models and virtual simulations, to finalize all tests in the real wind gallery. Limar Air Revolution range consists of five different helmet models, each one with different characteristics and price points, but with the same underlying concept: exploiting the laws of aerodynamics, studying the air stream and turbulence to guarantee athletes and amateurs a real and consistent advantage!
The sponsorship of Astana Pro Team began in 2017. The general manager of the team Alexandr Vinokurov as well as several sports directors of the team (Bruno Cenghialta, Dmitri Sedoun, Alexandr Shefer, Stefano Zanini) used to race with Limar helmets during their career as pro riders. Once they decided to stop racing, Limar has kept and valued personal relationships with all of them.
The opportunity of sponsorship for Limar arose in the beginning of 2017, when Astana terminated the contract with the previous helmet supplier. Since then, Limar has always been a very proud sponsor of the team, not only for the results they achieved but also for the relation of the management with its partners. The collaboration with a pro team is a great opportunity to test new products and keep improving following the riders’ suggestions and requests. Limar is also very proud to have extended the sponsorship until 2022.
Limar has been producing bicycle helmets for 34 years now and the Company has achieved several great results thanks to the pro riders who used our products. Some of the most important achievements were the Tour de France victories (in 1996 it was Bjarne Riis who took the victory and in 1997 it was Jan Ullrich, both wearing Limar F104).
Between 1994 and 1998 Limar collected several victories in the Monuments Races (with Michele Bartoli, Erik Zabel, Mauro Gianetti, Stefano Zanini).
Another good memory for Limar is Paola Pezzo's victory at the Olympic Games, both in Atlanta, 1996, and in Sidney in 2000.
