In today’s Gp de Fourmies/La Voix du Nord there has been the return to race of the Italian Fabio Aru, after the positive experience at the Olympic Games and a month of training.
“I'm really happy about the sensations I have had today – said Fabio Aru after the finish – I was looking forward to go back to race after almost a month of training and the ‘answers’ I was waiting for, they have arrived!”
“We have tried to escape in the first kms but the bunch came back on us – continued the Italian climber of the Astana Pro Team – then, after the escape of the day has been cancelled, some of my team mates tried to attack, the one that Lutsenko did was so good but not enough to cross as first the finish line. I’ve tried again too but unsuccesfully. Then there was a bunch sprint and I’m not well on this… I’m positive, good sensations and mind focused to the next races, in Canada.”
The 2016 edition of the Gp de Fourmies has been won by the German Marcel Kittel on the French Nacer Bouhanni on a final bunch sprint. The first Astana Pro Team classified has been the Kazakh Ruslan Tleubayev, 14th.
