Immediately after the crash Zeits has been moved to the hospital for detailed medical checking. A collarbone fracture is suspected, but we will communicate about his health statement later, as soon as more information will come. Omar Fraile after his crash has received a brief help from race doctor and was able to continue and finish the stage. Fraile has got multiple abrasions of his left part of the body as well as of his right elbow.
- What a bad luck for us with these two really bad crashes. I am really sorry for Andrey, but hope he will get well soon. We still are waiting for the confirmation of the diagnosis. Fortunately, Omar finished the stage and, normally, will start tomorrow. If we come back to the stage, we knew that a bunch sprint was highly expected with just some chances of an action inside the last 20 km. We were ready to act in the final, but it was impossible to do anything today. However, we are looking forward to the next days, - said Lars Michaelsen, sports director of Astana.
Stage 4 (Murten - Arlesheim, 163.9 km) ended with a massive sprint, won by the Italian champion Elia Viviani. Merhawi Kidus, Luis Leon Sanchez, Jan Hirt and Rodrigo Contreras all finished in the main group.
Peter Sagan kept his yellow jersey of the overall leader, Astana’s Sanchez is still 10th.
Stage 5 will be held tomorrow: 177 km from Münchenstein to Einsiedeln.
