A team of experts of the company has developed a protocol in order to guarantee the health and high performance of the athletes during a Grand tour race. This protocol includes two main points:
1. Total disinfection of the team bus at every stage. The procedure of totally 20 minutes allows the riders to travel in the bus in an ecologically sanitized environment and to benefit of their health with effective prevention of potential infection from airborne diseases.
2. Total disinfection of hotel’s rooms. The same procedure of 20 minutes is performing before rider’s arrival in the hotel. Sleeping and resting in an infection-free and pollution-free environment is representing a significant advantage for the riders with the prevention of possible infections caused by the environmental diseases.
- The devil is in details. We all know that a rider during a Grand tour is highly exposed to any kind of infections. Thus, a step ahead in this direction would help a lot to keep the health of the riders on a good level and to protect them during a race. After a nice meeting with Infinity Biotech we remained impressive of the work they are performing and a bit curious of a good impact, this might have on the rider’s health. So, we decided to start our partnership. During the whole Giro d’Italia, the representative of the company will perform this treatment of the spaces, where our riders live and travel. I hope, it will be a good collaboration, - said Alexandr Vinokurov, the general manager of Astana Pro Team.
Yesterday, the scientific group of the University Aldo Moro from Bari (Italy) led by the professor Maria Teresa Montagna has performed a set of additional researches to get more information about the protocol and its benefit on the health.
