- The most important goal for this week is that our riders who are preparing for the Giro d’Italia show some good shape. And, of course, we’re looking forward to what Merhawi Kudus can do after his first GC podium on World Tour level in the Tour of Turkey. Today he took a bit too much risk, finishing on 28 seconds of the winner in the end. Also, Rodrigo Contreras is a rider that could do a good overall classification, we hope to see him in the front at the climbs together with Merhawi. There are some stages we’re aiming for in this race, but the stage on Saturday (stage 5) will be the most important one, as it’s the Queen Stage of this year’s Tour de Romandie, - said sport director Dmitri Sedoun.
Tomorrow the riders will roll out for a 168.4 kilometers-long race at stage 1, from Neuchatel to La Chaux-de-Fonds. The five categorized climbs will make it a challenging day for the peloton.
