Tour du Rwanda. Stage 6. Merhawi Kudus leads the race with two stages to go
The Tour of Rwanda enters in its decisive phase. This weekend the race will end with two super short but in the same time super intense stages: stage 7 of 84.1 km will be held tomorrow (Nyamata – Kigali, 6 climbs, including the final uphill) and stage 8 of just 61.7 km will be held on Sunday (Kigali – Kigali, 7 climbs, including the final uphill and a famous Muur de Kigali).

- Indeed, we have two hard stages ahead of us. But, we are not afraid of it, because we have a very strong team here. For sure, these will be two special days, really difficult days, but we will do our best to protect my lead. I hope, I could do it through this weekend, - said Merhawi Kudus.
Meanwhile, stage 6 of the race has been held today: 121.1 km from Musanze to Nyamata. The stage ended with a sprint of a small breakaway group won by the Polish rider Przemyslaw Kasperkiewicz.
The main group finished 1 minute 19 seconds behind the stage winner. Merhawi Kudus supported by Rodrigo Contreras and Nikita Stalnov crossed the finish line without any difficulty.
With only two stages to go Kudus leads the race with an advantage of 17 seconds over Rein Taaramae.
