Somewhere with 60 km to go the peloton has split in two parts with the leading group getting a nice gap around 1 minute. Astana Pro Team had three riders in front: Luis Leon Sanchez, Omar Fraile and Dario Cataldo.
- Honestly, we knew it could be a good opportunity for the sprinters today, so for us this race was like an active recovery after a few very hard days in Murcia. We wanted to recover some energy, but anyway, we tried to do our best in the race. When the peloton split in parts, we still had Sanchez, Cataldo and Fraile in the leading group. Unfortunately, our fastest man Omar Fraile got a flat tire with around 8 km to go, so it was impossible for him to come back. Anyway, the main thing was to recover a bit since soon we will have a new big stage race, - said Bruno Cenghialta, sports director of Astana Pro Team.
