“I’ve tried with all my energies but in the final descent Izaguirre was better than me – explained Vincenzo Nibali at the Team Bus after the finish – I wanted to win a stage and I thought I could also have been useful for the my Team in the breakaway… I did good in the climb but then in the final wet descent to Morzine I’ve found one rider better than me”.
Today stage at Tour de France was characterized by the rain on the bigger part of the race route.
Our captain Fabio Aru suffered a bad day and he lost some minutes in the GC after three weeks race always at the top level: “I’ve suffered a bad day, I cannot say why but on the last climb to Col de Joux Plane I couldn’t follow the group of the Yellow Jersey – explained Fabio at the hotel after the stage – together with my staff we will analize what has happened to me today, for sure I hadn’t the legs that I had yesterday and two days ago in the ITT.”
As mentioned by Nibali, the 20th stage has been won by the Spaniard, Jon Izaguirre. The British, Christopher Froome has kept the Yellow jersey.
