Today stage at Tour de France has been a quite long stage (more than 200 km) with a chaotic final 15 km in the heart of the beautiful city of Bern, but nothing happened between the GC contenders. The victory has gone to the Slovak, Peter Sagan, at his 3rd win in this Tour.
We take the occasion to talk a little bit with one of the most expert riders of the Astana Pro Team, Jakob Fuglsang, Danish, 31 years old, at his sixth Tour de France: “Until now the race has been quite strange: there was only one real uphill finish and the differences in the GC has come out principally by the individual time trial…”.
“I see there are still many riders between the GC contenders who have not still shown up their real condition and their ambition – explained Fuglsang – I hope that starting from Wednesday uphill finish, all the values will come up and we will see who should aim to the victory, who for the podium and who is not in a good condition…”.
“On our side, as Astana Pro Team, we are all working to help Fabio to stay at the front and to avoid any risk, specifically in the stages like today, when the rythm become crazy in the final – concluded the Danish – I think that Fabio is doing a very good Tour and I’m sure he has yet something to ‘say’…”.
Tomorrow there will be the second and last rest day of the Tour de France 2016. The race will restart on Wednesday with the difficult stage Berne – Finhaut-Emosson, 184.5 km with an tough uphill final.
