Today, on September 21st, Astana ProTeam rider Oscar Gatto crashed out during a home road training, hitting badly his head and face. Fortunately, his helmet, taking the main shock, saved the rider from too serious injuries.
After the incident, Gatto was moved to the hospital for a detailed medical checking, which did not find any fracture.
Oscar Gatto was diagnosed with many body contusions, abrasions and bruises, also on the head and face. The closest medical prognosis – at least a week out of a bike and recovery.
Most probably, Oscar will quit the 2017 season to get the maximal recovery because rider’s health is on the first plan.
