It has to be noted, that Brändle did the race in quite good weather conditions on the dry roads, while many GC contenders, including Michael Valgren had to compete in raining conditions on the wet roads.
- I am really happy with my TT. I had not too big results in TT races this year, actually, I did not train it so much and did not have too many possibilities to race it. So, with this result I can be really satisfied and I am especially happy with my conditions. Perhaps, I could do better some corners in the end, but I tried to avoid any risk, because for the moment all my thoughts are about the world championships. Right now, I am feeling very powerful and strong and I am happy with that. Now we will see tomorrow if it be possible to fight for the GC win. It would be quite difficult, but we will try, - said Michael Valgren.
- I think, Michael did a very strong and well balanced time trial – in the final he was able to increase his pace and to gain some important seconds over most of his rivals. So, we are happy today and looking forward to tomorrow’s stage. If we have a chance to do something in general classification, we will try to play our cards, - added sports director Lars Michaelsen.
Two Kazakh riders of Astana ProTeam did a good race too, despite a heavy rain during their performance: Dmitriy Gruzdev was 17th, while young Zhandos Bizhigitov finished 32nd.
In general classification Mads Pedersen still holds the lead, while Michael Valgren is second, 8 seconds behind the leader.
The last stage 5 of the Tour of Denmark will be held tomorrow: 198 km from Ebeltoft to Aarhus.
