At km 95 the president of the jury decided to stop the race because of two riders in the break, who took the wrong way. After 15 minutes of neutralization, the race was continued.
Under 23 European champion Casper Pedersen won this stage after his solo attack inside the last 7 kilometers. The first chasing group finished 7 seconds later with three Astana riders: Breschel, Michael Valgren and Truls Korsaeth.
- Quite tough race with a bad weather. Our riders, Zhandos Bizhigitov and Arman Kamyshev did a good job to control the daily break. Later, in the last 25 km there was a really high speed in the group, which produced a strong selection in the peloton with three our riders in the front. In the end both, Matti Breschel and Michael Valgren made a few attacks, but with 7 km to go it was another rider, who succeed, making it until the finish, - said sports director Lars Michaelsen.
The second stage of the race will be held tomorrow: 183,8 km from Svendborg to Odense.
