After three weeks of race, La Vuelta 2017 will end this late afternoon in Madrid city centre with the traditional ‘final catwalk’.
Real race will be just in the laps of the city centre circuit where, for sure, our riders will give their best to end in the best possible way a race that has been brutal sometimes but gave important satisfactions to our Team.
We have analyzed the situation with one of the sport director on field: Dmitriy Sedoun.
“I think we can say that the final balance of this Vuelta is very positive for the Astana Pro Team.”
“We won three stages (with one still to be ridden), we conquered the Teams Classification and the best Young Rider prize – explained Sedoun – those results can be considered very good for us.”
“We started this Vuelta with the ambition to do our best in the GC, considering that we had the Italian Champion, Fabio Aru, a bit tired for the long racing season he did before the Spanish grand tour, and the Colombian Miguel Angel Lopez that will conclude today his first grand tour.”
“Yesterday it hasn’t been a good stage for us but this fact doesn’t change the overall balance: a very important aspect that I would like to emphasize is that the entire team did a great Vuelta where the goals we fixed day by day, have been earned most of the times”.
“The victory in the Teams Classification is a demonstration on the great power of the group” continued Sedoun.
“Finally, I wish to congratulate with the entire Team, either the staff and the riders, because we really enjoy these three weeks”.
