Italian rider Riccardo Minali as it was yesterday, was motivated to get another good result in the Top-10. However, in the final meters Astana rider found himself boxed in and was forced to break. Finally, Riccardo Minali took 14th place.
French rider Nacer Bouhanni won today’s race ahead of Marc Sarreau and German Rüdiger Selig.
- In the beginning of the race a big group of riders went away, and Astana together with other teams started to chase it. Ruslan Tleubayev, Daniil Fominykh, Arman Kamyshev and Matti Breschel did a very good job in front of the peloton. After 60 km of racing there was a crash with our trainee Yevgeniy Gidich involved. Fortunately, he was able to come back in the group and even helped in chasing the break. The final circuit was quite hard, but we were able to hold our sprinter Riccardo Minali in the peloton. He was ready to sprint, but it was quite chaotic there in the final, so in a moment he was boxed in and forced to break, losing a few positions. So, this happens. Riccardo is so young and still gets valuable experience, - said sports director Lars Michaelsen.
