The second stage of Arctic Tour of Norway, started from Sjøvegan and ended in Bardufoss Airport, 184.5 km with some hills in the first part, with the prevented bunch sprint.
Our Kazakh rider Zhandos Bizhigitov spent the entire day at the attack with five other riders but their breakaway ended at 13 km to go. Exactly in that moment, came our from the bunch the other young brave rider of the Astana Pro Team, the local idol, the Norwegian, Truls Korsæth.
Korsæth tried strongly to keep a small gap on the peloton but the prevented bunch sprint was unavoidable today.
The Norwegian European Champion, Alexander Kristoff, has been the fastest on today’s finish line and the GC Leader Jersey is still on the Belgian Dylan Teuns shoulders
Tomorrow, the third stage from Lyngseidet (Lyngen Alps) to Finnvikdalen (Tromsø) will be for sure one of the most important stage of the race for the GC challenge: the uphill final (that is also a 1st category KOM) in fact has been decisive in the past for the GC.
